Great Movies About Politics: First in a Series

If you haven’t seen it or haven’t seen it in a while, pick up Robert Redford’s The Candidate sometime soon. I like the way the movie captures that unpredictable, make-it-up-as-we-go sense that political campaigns still have even in the era of scripted, on-message robots and poll-driven consultants.

Great moment: At the end, (spoiler ahead) Redford, stunned to find himself the winner,  looks at his chief consultant and says, “What do we do now?” Obama and Clinton must have had several of those moments already.
